Cricket v/s Life

Cricket is Life/Life is Cricket?

Well when it comes to me, the latter is true. The best lesson that I have learnt so far by watching cricket is - 'LIFE:Its your game, play it your way!' and I seem to get wiser everytime I watch a match.

Now, stating a 'few' similarities between the two - Life is as exciting as a rollercoaster ride, so is the game of cricket and both are equally unpredictable. Most importantly you gotta be passionate about both and be a sport to handle both. You are in it to perform, compete and prove your worth or as they say 'in it to win it'. At the end of the day its only 'SUCCESS' that matters. :)

P.S: The inspiration you derive from real life characters brings about a world of difference in your life. And cricket has produced many such stalwarts watching whom you get motivated to really make it BIG in life.

Every second counts

Time undoubtedly is the most precious commodity on planet earth. Many a time I feel as if I am running out of time. Life really seems short when there is so much to achieve.
'Put in all the effort and just keep going' is the mantra of life.
Live in the moment and dont ever let go the present 'cause time and tide wait
for none.

Haan hai koi (yet another Hindi song)

dil ke kore kagaz par
geet likh rahi hoon aaj
haan hai koi jiski
har ada pe hoon main fida

khamosh hote hue bhi
sab kuch keh deta hai
hai anokha andaaz uska
jo dil ko lubha deta hai

rehti hoon apni tanhai mein
uske yaadon mein khoyi hui
hui main deewani uski
haal mera yeh kehta hai

dil ke kore kagaz par
geet likh rahi hoon aaj
haan hai koi jiski
har ada pe hoon main fida

Life.. riding you through a rainbow of emotions (song)

................................................................
unsure of where you are heading to..
yet gotta keep going
time is what all you need
so jus' hang on to yourself

life.. riding you through a
rainbow of emotions.. from
moments of feeling blue to
overwhelming joy at times
could there be a sport
trickier than the game of life ?

theres no easy way out
of this matrix.. once in
time is what all you need
so jus' hang on to yourself

life.. riding you through a
rainbow of emotions.. from
moments of feeling blue to
overwhelming joy at times
could there be a sport
trickier than the game of life ?

My Mr.Right!! Jus' another song, only for fun!

Well.. I have always wanted to write RAP intermixed with a few Punjabi lines..
so here it goes.....

My Mr.Right!!

ran into him at the mall
the other day..
the next thing I knew
I was following him ..
am I losing my mind or
have I lost it already
wondering who is this guy
and where is he from
who makes my heart flutter
is he my Mr.Right ??

janeja sadde dil da haal ik vaar sunle
aise door rehke sannu is tarah na tadpa tu

o boy! I gotta let u know that
I m so very much into you

oh no I lost track of him
I wish I can go back in time
and say 'hi' to him
I dunno if I'll ever see him again
although I so really wanna
have come across many guys
but never did this happen even once
sure I m my own self nomore ..
this one.. who makes my heart flutter
is he my Mr.Right ??

janeja sadde dil da haal ik vaar sunle
aise door rehke sannu is tarah na tadpa tu

o boy! I gotta let u know tht
I m so very much into u

there he is I spot him again
this time at a friend's party
and my heart fills with joy
as the evening gets naughty
not able to say a word,
I jus' stare at him
to my surprise he reads my mind,
and asks me 'will you dance wth me?'
this one.. who makes my heart flutter
is sure my Mr.Right !!

:)))))

Woh!!! (Hindi song)

yet another song......

SCENE - guy lost in thoughts of his dreamgirl....

woh gehri nigahein,
aur chehra sunehra
woh kaatil adayein,
jaise roshan savera

un zulfon ke saaye mein
kho jane ko mann karta hai
jo har dard ko ...
muskurahat bana deti hain

ek na ek din hona tha
aisa haal mera ...
bebas hui zindagi meri
uske intezaar mein ..

kash ..
woh mere khayalon ki rani
haqeeqat banke, meri suni mehfil ko sajade ..
bas yehi ek dua hai meri ..

ohh meri soniye .. ni aja aja hiriye

Hulchul (Hindi poem)

MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE!!

khule asmaan mein udti chidiya
ya ho baharon mein khilti kali

mann hi mann muskurate hue
aur har lamha jeete hue

apni kismat aazmaye hue,
khushi ke gun gungunati hai

" khuda na kare yeh shaam dhale
mausam suhana yeh har dum rahe

kaisi hai ye hulchul dil mein
kyun machalti hai dil ki dhadkan

lehrati hawaein aisa asar kar gayi ki
achanak ajab si lage duniya mujhe

aaj maine yeh hai jana ...
khoobsurat hai kitna zamana

mujhe zindagi dene wale,
tujhpe hai ye meri jaan nisar .."

Barsaat ki raat (Hindi song)

TRYING TO PEN A HINDI FILMY TYPE OF SONG
for the first time came up with this one -

barsaat ki rimjhim boonden
aisa jaadu kar gayi ki
shuru hua pyar ka silsila
jab mehki hawaon ne dil ko chhua

jhilmilati si shaam dhalne lagi
mann mein naye armaan jagne lage
palkon pe neend na aayi
par pyar ke sapne sajne lage

sama madbhara nashe mein goonj uttha,
us sargam ki taal mein sans thamne lagi
jagmagate sitare sharmaye hue, raat
nainon mein kajal bankar sone lagi

......... hmm not all the bad huh .... :)

Zindagi ka safar!! (Journey of life - a hindi poem)

the HAUNTING VOICE (poem)

- laments of a lonely heart in anguish ..

how I wish I could voice my opinion

so that people could hear the real me

how I wish I could drop these robes

and dress up the way I really like

how I wish I could fly on my own

and have the real experience of flying

how I wish I could rest my weary feet

and dance to the tune I want to

how I wish I could shut lips that feign

and sing my heart out in bliss

how I wish I could stop pretending

and start to live a real life

will this screaming voice within ever fade ..?

will my spirit be ever set free ...?

Age matters

You say it best when you say nothing at all. Mother Nature silently guides us and teaches us a lot.

The stems of small plants are so fine that they are nearly always in motion with the slightest gust of wind, whereas larger trees stand strong and fight the toughest of situations. In a similar way, innocent brains are easily influenced by external forces. As one grows one acquires wisdom, tunes his mind accordingly and learns self mastery.
BUT he must be vigilant and look out for ego 'cause its like a poison that spreads slowly and without the notice of the person destroys him. And thats the reason why its most often the strong trees that fall prey to severe winds when innocent tender ones manage to withstand the crisis and ultimately survive the grave situation.
NOTE: There are always exceptions. Some are born wise while some never seem to be learning at all.

Being alone v/s Being lonely

..................... Standing alone! .........................

Solitude helps one rejuvenate and sink deeper. It brings the best out of a person and also his hidden facets to surface in unexpected ways.

I love to be with myself and totally immersed in doing things of my choice cherishing my alone time. The feeling cannot be put in words, it can only be experienced.

People come, people go. Solitude stays with you always.

Those were the days (poem)

......

( as the Graduation day was nearing ... thoughts running in my mind were put in simple words ..... )

Dozing off in lecture galleries
Fainting spells in clinical wards

Exams driving deadly nightmares
Clinics causing alarming pain

Staying up almost all night
Treating patients who are in plight

Treats are a sign of relief
Fests follow to end the grief

Tittle tattle here and there
Its celebration everywhere

Now its time to have fun
And say that we are all one

Time flies too fast
But the memories will last.

Think Small

- and make it BIG...............................

Think small no matter how big your goal might be. Its the little drops that make the ocean. Every big task has to be achieved by first taking one small step and then, one after another towards the top.

(Mineralized water drops hanging from the stalactite - Every stalactite is formed as drop after drop slowly trickles through cracks in the cave roof.)

So ask yourself what you want and go for it. Don't justify another choice and do something just for the sake of doing it. Its the obvious enthusiasm for what you do that will make your mission all the more exciting and challenging. One must however be patient because things will not happen over night. Remember Rome was not built in a day.

Put a bit of effort into your life and who knows what you will discover. Listen to your heart, follow your dream and make things happen for you.

Meeting President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam

- The day it was ......................

A bright February afternoon spent among the members of the medical fraternity, His Excellency
President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was an experience that cannot be ever forgotten.
He is all what is said of him down to earth, humble and very approachable.
The very sight of him walking up to the dais to address us was so enthralling and unbelievable. But walking with quick steps Dr Kalam was all smiles at the doctors and members of the press and it was an immense pleasure to receive him on the dais.

To describe how good it was to meet the President in person and interact with him is not an easy task to accomplish. The best of our youth get an amazing experience when they meet Dr Kalam. He can blend with the youth like no one else. But questioning the President at any point of time can be a very intimidating experience. Although we had prepared for the 'Question hour', we were'nt, atleast I was'nt expecting it to happen as we were told that it would depend on his schedule that day and therefore a li'l uncertain. As I was listening to him speak..., the next thing I know is he calls out my name! I went totally blank for a moment.., fortunately recovered in no time, to put my question to him regarding 'Nanotechnology' to which he very patiently answered. When one questions him, he gives his undivided attention and of course the audience is all ears all along. President's visit to our college on the occasion of our Golden Jubilee celebrations was very significant as he could influence the educated youth and also infuse electrifying ideas in their minds who are the future of our country.

It was an honor to be given the opportunity to sing our National Anthem on the dais
in the presence of the First citizen of our Nation, His Excellency President Dr Kalam himself and I had never felt so privileged ever before. And to receive compliments from Dr Kalam himself was something I never even dreamt of before.
The whole event had such a big influence on me that I was on cloud nine for a day following the event and felt like a celebrity. I will cherish the moment Dr Kalam spoke to me in person forever and remember the day as the day I met the President of India.
