Zindagi ka safar!! (Journey of life - a hindi poem)

the HAUNTING VOICE (poem)
_______________________________
... tired of faking emotions a puppet cries!!
_______________________________
how I wish I could voice my opinion
so that people could hear the real me
how I wish I could drop these robes
and dress up the way I really like
how I wish I could fly on my own
and have the real experience of flying
how I wish I could rest my weary feet
and dance to the tune I want to
how I wish I could shut lips that feign
and sing my heart out in bliss
how I wish I could stop pretending
and start to live a real life
will this screaming voice within ever fade ..?
will my spirit be ever set free ...?

Age matters
The stems of small plants are so fine that they are nearly always in motion with the slightest gust of wind, whereas larger trees stand strong and fight the toughest of situations. In a similar way, innocent brains are easily influenced by external forces. As one grows one acquires wisdom, tunes his mind accordingly and learns self mastery.
BUT he must be vigilant and look out for ego 'cause its like a poison that spreads slowly and without the notice of the person destroys him. And thats the reason why its most often the strong trees that fall prey to severe winds when innocent tender ones manage to withstand the crisis and ultimately survive the grave situation.

Being alone v/s Being lonely
Solitude helps one rejuvenate and sink deeper. It brings the best out of a person and also his hidden facets to surface in unexpected ways.
I love to be with myself and totally immersed in doing things of my choice cherishing my alone time. The feeling cannot be put in words, it can only be experienced.
People come, people go. Solitude stays with you always.

Renaissance
...everytime I realized it only after I discovered the new 'me' that was reborn with a stronger impression engraved by the philosophy of life learnt on my mind. And now I am still trying to grow, as my quest for knowledge is never-ending.

Those were the days (poem)
( as the Graduation day was nearing ... thoughts running in my mind were put in simple words ..... )
Dozing off in lecture galleries
Fainting spells in clinical wards
Exams driving deadly nightmares
Clinics causing alarming pain
Staying up almost all night
Treating patients who are in plight
Treats are a sign of relief
Fests follow to end the grief
Tittle tattle here and there
Its celebration everywhere
Now its time to have fun
And say that we are all one
Time flies too fast
But the memories will last.

Think Small
Think small no matter how big your goal might be. Its the little drops that make the ocean. Every big task has to be achieved by first taking one small step and then, one after another towards the top.
(Mineralized water drops hanging from the stalactite - Every stalactite is formed as drop after drop slowly trickles through cracks in the cave roof.)
So ask yourself what you want and go for it. Don't justify another choice and do something just for the sake of doing it. Its the obvious enthusiasm for what you do that will make your mission all the more exciting and challenging. One must however be patient because things will not happen over night. Remember Rome was not built in a day.
Put a bit of effort into your life and who knows what you will discover. Listen to your heart, follow your dream and make things happen for you.

Meeting President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam
- The day it was ......................
A bright February afternoon spent among the members of the medical fraternity, His Excellency
President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was an experience that cannot be ever forgotten.
He is all what is said of him down to earth, humble and very approachable.
The very sight of him walking up to the dais to address us was so enthralling and unbelievable. But walking with quick steps Dr Kalam was all smiles at the doctors and members of the press and it was an immense pleasure to receive him on the dais.
To describe how good it was to meet the President in person and interact with him is not an easy task to accomplish. The best of our youth get an amazing experience when they meet Dr Kalam. He can blend with the youth like no one else. But questioning the President at any point of time can be a very intimidating experience. Although we had prepared for the 'Question hour', we were'nt, atleast I was'nt expecting it to happen as we were told that it would depend on his schedule that day and therefore a li'l uncertain. As I was listening to him speak..., the next thing I know is he calls out my name! I went totally blank for a moment.., fortunately recovered in no time, to put my question to him regarding 'Nanotechnology' to which he very patiently answered. When one questions him, he gives his undivided attention and of course the audience is all ears all along. President's visit to our college on the occasion of our Golden Jubilee celebrations was very significant as he could influence the educated youth and also infuse electrifying ideas in their minds who are the future of our country.
It was an honor to be given the opportunity to sing our National Anthem on the dais
in the presence of the First citizen of our Nation, His Excellency President Dr Kalam himself and I had never felt so privileged ever before. And to receive compliments from Dr Kalam himself was something I never even dreamt of before.
The whole event had such a big influence on me that I was on cloud nine for a day following the event and felt like a celebrity. I will cherish the moment Dr Kalam spoke to me in person forever and remember the day as the day I met the President of India.
